1-Wire Soil Moisture
Model: Soil Moisture Sensor with Moisture Meter Board.
Purpose: Measures Leaf Wetness
Purchased from: www.hobby-boards.com
Details: The Watermark Soil Moisture sensor (granular matrix sensor) is an indirect method of measuring soil water. It is an electrical resistance type sensor read by the Moisture Meter Board which interfaces to the 1-Wire network.
Features:
- Fully solid state
- Will not dissolve in soil
- Not affected by freezing temperatures
- Internal compensation for commonly found salinity levels
- Easy to use
- No maintenance
To Install the Soil Moisture meter you must soak and dry it 3 times, This takes 24 hours for each cycle.
When the sensor is finally installed it must be installed wet. Pour a large container of water in the hole.
This ensures that the soil particles have good contact with the sensor.
